Consultations with Teachers and Counselors
Building a Support Network for Your Child
When your child has undergone testing or is in therapy with us, we offer an additional service: direct consultations with their teachers or school counselors.
How Consultations Help
- Open Communication: We facilitate conversations between your child's therapist/psychologist and their school support team. This can be done by phone or in person, based on what works best for everyone involved.
- Deeper Understanding: These discussions help teachers get insights from our assessments or therapy sessions, leading to better support in the classroom.
- Teamwork: Consultations allow everyone involved to align their strategies and provide the most effective help for your child.

IEP or 504 Support
We're on Your Team
If your child works with a Chesapeake clinician, we can provide essential support during IEP or 504 meetings:
- Written Recommendations: Our clinician will offer tailored recommendations for your child's plan, ensuring their unique needs are considered.
- Phone Participation: If helpful, our clinician can join the meeting remotely to offer insights and advocate for your child.
- In-Person Support (If Needed): In some cases, having your child's clinician present in the meeting provides the strongest level of advocacy.
